Rafter J Cowboy Church: I had a bit of ham as well, but kept on going back to the Brisket and pulled pork. Even the sides were good!!! Even the rolls seemed like they had some butter infused into them or something. I am a big BBQ fan!!! I love the stuff and have plenty of it since I grew up down here so the fact I can eat here day after day is a glowing endorsement of their food!!! The brisket is just devine!! I had to eat at least a half a pound of meat, probably more towards a pound, and that covers the cost of the meal easily.
Heck, I would pay that for the brisket alone! The place was very clean for how busy it was. The restaurant is located only minutes away from downtown McKinney so there is plenty of stuff to do in the area. The ambiance really gives you that smokehouse feeling, I believe the place actually used to be an old barn. I had the brisket plate and wow that was A LOT of food!!! See what I did there? I think it used to be a barn too…looks a lot like a barn I used to work in when I was growing up so it conjures up very good memories for me. This was our second visit to a Costco within the last few weeks.
I gave the Costco on Dallas Parkway in Frisco a 2. Service was the same — quickly served up only minutes after ordering and my receipt was accurate. Tables were clean and condiment stations were full. Going to score this an extra. I have to start by saying I love Costco…now I have to blast them a little bit.baranreberc.tk
McKinney, TX Sunoco
Both locations fell woefully short in this area. Now, that rant out of the way I will say that the service was super fast, the eating area was clean. Based on that I have to give them a better rating. There was no difference between the food here and the location on Dallas Parkway in Plano, so score one for consistency! Pizza was a huge slice taking up almost the entire paper plate. Hot dog was maybe 8 inches in length, easily outdistancing the bun. Pizza had a good consistency and cheese to sauce ratio, crispy crust included.
Hot dog was all beef and juicy, while the churro was over a foot in length and full of cinnamon taste. I will give them big points for consistency, the food was the same at both locations…excellent!! The hot dog runs off both ends of the bun!! It was very jucy and hot!!
There really is no ambiance to speak of, the food court is in a warehouse. There really is not much menu variety either, but the stuff they do have is top notch. They did a good job of keeping the place clean and condiment containers full. This one was full stocked for condiments and such but the seating is just terrible. We have had their subs in the past on a few different occasions and always thought highly of their food. Will this time be any different?
Happily greeting us when we walked in, talkative during the time when they made our sandwiches, offered their opinion on what we should eat…it was definitely above and beyond your typical fast food joint. They made our substantial subs very quickly and with no errors. They were fast with the subs and they were spot on!! I am not there THAT much! This place is amazing!!! Nom, how can you only write a few sentences on how good this sandwich was? The ambiance is what you would expect from a sandwich shop, with some nice artwork on the wall. It may actually be the ultimate sandwich place…honest!!!
It was super clean and well decorated. Ok, location of this one is meh. Even if I was driving by I would not notice it, there is nothing notable about this location at all. May as well take advantage of that! I had been there once before and remember them decorating very nicely for the holidays. How would this experience stack up? Excellent service throughout our dining experience — our drinks non-alcoholic of course! Our appetizer took about 12 minutes to get to our table from the time we ordered, and our main course came about 8 minutes after that…and this was when the place was pretty packed!
My only gripe that been the wait time to get a table even when reservations were made. Overall service was still VERY good. The service here was excellent and did not disappoint! Our waiter was excellent! He made very good recommendations and was very polite and helpful. We never had to look around for him and never had to get his attention! And this place was packed so that says a lot about the quality of service.
McKinney Location - JC's Burger House
It should be noted that I am part Italian, so this kind of food always holds a special place in my heart. When it was brought to our table the first thing I noticed is that the presentation was very nice, maybe some of the best at an Italian restaurant. It was fresh, it had the right texture, it had the right amount of toppings, it was just greatness.
The pesto ravioli was also outstanding, with about 8 large pieces of ravioli in a dish filled with this pesto sauce. The spaghetti was cooked properly with a large, tasty meatball along for the ride. Even though we were full we had to try a dessert, and happy that we did. It was a nice warm apply pastry with a lump of ice cream on top. The place was decorated so well for the holidays!
No plain white dishes here, they look like they came out of someones personal kitchen. No watery sauce to be found. I was stuffed, stuffed, stuffed and yet I found a way to stuff this Apple dessert in my mouth and nom nom it down!!! The restaurant was very clean, with not a dirty spot to be found. The atmosphere is upscale yet casual, and how cool it is that they decorate nicely for the holidays?
Again, shows that they go a bit above and beyond what you might normally expect. Well decorated, very clean and they offer a good variety on the menu…plus how can you beat buy an entree and get one to take home for later??? With the coupon my handsome love had it was a great value!!! Their location is awesome too…right by the mall! After a hectic Black Friday we decided to relax and go see a movie at the iPic theater located in the Village at Fairview. Shortly after we took our seats a waiter came over, introduced himself, and was ready to take our order. We got our food about 10 minutes after ordering, which was perfectly acceptable.
Yes, my popcorn has been forgotten on occasions in the past. They really have some room for improvement to really set themselves apart from any other movie theater experience out there, and instead it comes across as a bit lacking. He did show up and our food was out pretty quickly! Within about 10 minutes which was good!
